Keys to success

The VALID Keys to Success Program is a self advocacy training course that supports people to learn about speaking up and have a say in their plan.

The Keys to Success program will help people to be confident in speaking up when making choices and decisions about their lives and when setting goals.  

The training will be helpful when doing planning with the National Disability Insurance Agency and Disability Services.

  • How to make a complaint

Key 2.    Self Advocacy

Speaking up in the right way and charge your batteries

  • Self Confidence
  • Self Esteem

Key 3.    Preparing for Planning

Speaking up about your future and making plans

  • Getting ready for the NDIS 
  • Understanding your needs
  • Setting your goals
  • Taking charge of  your life

VALID staff will come to your service working with small groups to go through the program to empower individuals to lead their own lives and direct their own plan. The Keys to Success training course can be delivered in a flexible manner. The course usually runs over a two hour period for six to eight sessions or the course can be tailored to the needs of the group.      

VALID has developed the Staying Safe workshop to help people with a disability learn how they can stay safe from abuse and neglect. This workshop is currently a part of the Keys to Success Program  You can find out more here
